Leurtza Reservoirs

Between the villages of Urrotz and Beintza-Labaien (northwest of Navarra) you will find two reservoirs built in 1920.

The magic of this place lies in the location of these two unexpected mountain lakes, in a closed basin covered with beech trees. Thus, because of this spectacular landscape, the Leurtza reservoirs have been declared a Natural Recreational Area, and have furniture, stoves, information points, etc.

A great way to discover them is through a marked hiking trail which is 3’5 km long and has 60 metres incline; therefore it is suitable for everyone. In this hiking trail, you will find information about the flora and the fauna, as well as the human exploitation of the area. There is also another hiking trail which is 9 km long.

The perfect place to spend a family day surrounded by nature, forests and tranquillity!
